ABOUT THE VENUE
Lake Aiguebelette is one of only a few natural rowing courses in France. Situated at the foot of the Épine Mountains, which separate the Chambéry basin and Lake Bourget from the Avant Pays Savoyard and the plains to the east of Lyon, the lake is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside.
Running southeast – northwest and sheltered from the wind, the layout of the course and the depth of the water provide excellent racing conditions. Rowers greatly appreciate the course for its natural beauty, clean water and great racing conditions.
Lake Aiguebelette hosted the 1997 World Rowing Championships and the 2014 World Rowing Cup II.
