GENERAL INFORMATION

Important note: Vilnius International Airport (VNO) will be closed from 14 July until 18 August 2017 due to reconstruction. Flights to and from Lithuania will be operated from Kaunas International Airport (KUN), Palanga International Airport (PLQ) and Riga International Airport (RIX). ELIGIBILITY

World Rowing Championships are open to all member federations. A rower may compete in a Junior rowing event until 31st of December of the year in which he reaches the age of 18.

 

EVENTS OFFERED

The following events are offered at the 2017 World Rowing Junior Championships:

Junior Men (JM): 1x, 2x, 2-, 4-, 4x, 4+, 8+

Junior Women (JW): 1x, 2x, 2-, 4-, 4x, 4+, 8+

 

ABOUT THE VENUE

Held on Trakai’s Galve Lake, this popular rowing spot was the venue of the 2002 World Rowing Junior Championships, 2006 FISU World Student Championships, 2008 FISA World Masters Regatta, 2012 World Rowing Under 23 Championships, 2013 World Rowing Junior Championships and 2016 European Rowing Junior Championships. It is known for its picturesque island castle near the finish line. The venue is also the home of the International Amber Oars Regatta. The lake is 2000m and 87.5m wide.
