2020 World Rowing Indoor Championships

The World Rowing Federation (FISA), in partnership with Concept2 and the Fédération Française d’Aviron, are proud to host the third World Rowing Indoor Championships between the 7 and 8 February 2020 at the Coubertin Stadium in Paris.

DEADLINES

The deadlines related to the 2020 World Rowing Indoor Championships are as follows;

– 21 October 2019 – Online registration opens – click here to register.
– 31 December 2019 – Early bird online registration deadline
– 20 January 2020 – Online entry deadline
– 30 January 2020 – Late entry deadline (by email)
– 1 February 2020 – Initial race schedule posted
– 7 February 2020 – On-site race card pick-up is available

RELAY EVENTS (SATURDAY 08 FEBRUARY, 2020)

​Relay 8x250m

Four rowers per team will share one machine. Each team member will take turns rowing 250 meters twice each in the same order. WRICH relay is open to competitors of any age.

 

CLASSIFICATIONS

EVENT AGE CLASSIFICATIONS:

Under 19: A competitor may compete in the U19 category if he/she shall not have attained the age of 19 by race day.

Under 23: A competitor may compete in the U23 category if he/she shall not have attained the age of 23 by race day.

Open: Open events are open to competitors of any age

Masters: A master athlete is a competitor who has attained, or will attain, the age of 30 on race day. A competitor’s age is determined on the day of the race. Masters competitors are required to race within the event designated for their age category but they can choose to race in open category if they want to.

PARA ROWING EVENT CLASSIFICATION / ELIGIBILITY FOR PARA ATHLETES:

FISA Classification is required for the World Rowing Indoor Championships PR1, PR2 and PR3 events. Athletes taking part in these events that have not yet been classified by a FISA International Classification panel are required to submit documentation for a pre-classification assessment (links below). These documents must be uploaded to the FISA Classification Portal by the National Federation of the athlete 45 days prior to classification, i.e. no later than 24 December 2019. Please send these documents to your National Federation well in advance of this date.

IMPORTANT CLASSIFICATION NOTE: If you have been classified in your country for para on-water rowing and have not competed internationally, you most likely have a national classification status that IS NOT accepted as a FISA International classification. If you have competed in on-water rowing at the international level, then you would likely have been FISA classified. If you have been internationally classified, please ensure that you have a confirmed status, or that your review date has not passed.

VENUE

The competition will be held at the ​Coubertin Stadium​, a world-class athlete facility. This venue is regularly used for handball (PSG team), volleyball, tennis, martial arts, fencing and similar events. The location is 2 minutes away from the metro Porte de Saint Cloud (line 9).
