Three Adaptive rowing boat classes are on the programme for the 2003 World Rowing Championships in Milan, Italy in August.

The three events are the LTA4+ for rowers with leg, trunk and arm rowing functionality, the TA2x for rowers with trunk and arm rowing functionality and the TA 1x for rowers with only arm rowing functionality.

The LTA4+ and TA2x events will be rowed over 1000 metres and the TA1x will take place over 500 metres. The crew in the four consists of two men and two women, the TA2x is open to either all male or mixed crews and either male or female rowers may enter the TA1x event.

This is a critically important second step for rowing’s application to enter the Paralympic Games in 2008.
