Two Austrian crews have had their World Cup points and prize money withdrawn after a breach of FISA’s advertising rules during the finals at the third regatta in Vienna, Austria, on Sunday.

The lightweight men’s coxless four and the lightweight women’s double both had more sponsor identifications on their uniforms than allowed by the FISA rules.

The four had finished in second place (6 points) while the double finished had fourth (4 points).

Under FISA regulations rowers may wear one sponsor name or logo on their clothing to a maximum of 84 centimetres. They may also have the name of their clothing manufacturer displayed as long as it is a maximum of 16cm squared.

The Austrian crews were found to have been displaying the names and logos of several sponsors on their uniforms.
