BearingPoint Becomes New Partner of International Rowing
BearingPoint: Visions and values that match those of rowing
FISA, the International Rowing Federation, has entered into a new partnership with BearingPoint, one of the world’s largest business consulting, systems integration and managed services firms, for the 2003 and 2004 rowing season. With this agreement BearingPoint, which was formerly called KPMG Consulting, becomes the title sponsor of the 2003 and 2004 Rowing World Cup series and the presenting sponsor of the 2003 World Rowing Championships.

The name BearingPoint means setting direction to an end point and as a business systems integrator their mission is to help each client align its business and systems to achieve its desired goals. With global headquarters based in Virginia, in the United States, the firm includes 16,000 professionals in 39 countries worldwide.
Over 720 rowers from 45 nations will be competing in the first of the three BearingPoint Rowing World Cup regattas to be held in Milan, Italy from 29 to 31 May. A total of 205 boats will take to the waters in the fashion capital of Europe in a first chance to earn the precious points that could lead to the title of World Cup Champion.
The international entry, which counts an impressive 44 Sydney Olympic medallists, will race in 17 boat classes for this first meet of the 2003 international rowing season.
The World Cup finals, to be raced on Saturday 31 May, will be transmitted on the European sports channel Eurosport as well as on the BBC in Great Britain, NOS in the Netherlands, HRT in Croatia and several other European television channels. RAI television in Italy will serve as host broadcaster for the event.
The overall BearingPoint Rowing World Cup champions will be determined at the end of the three regattas. In 2003, the regattas of the series take place in Milan, Italy (29 – 31 May), Munich, Germany (20 – 22 June) and the final in Lucerne, Switzerland (11 -13 July).

An official press conference attended by FISA President Denis Oswald and BearingPoint Marketing Director Georg Mankel will be held at noon on Saturday 31 May during the BearingPoint Rowing World Cup regatta in Milan.
