Directing the training was Tunisian coach Faycal Soula. Soula is also a member of FISA’s competitive commission.
The only rowing in Kuwait is done at the Kuwait Sea Sports Club. The club is 20km from Kuwait City and rowing is done on the sea, the Persian Gulf.
Soula was enthusiastic about the progress saying that there is a real momentum amongst rowers and coaches in Kuwait. “They are eager to revitalise the activity of rowing and they have a development plan that focuses on three points: One, set up another site for practicing rowing. Two, increase the number of clubs. Three, acquire new boats.
Khaled Foudari, the vice secretary general of the Kuwait Sea Sports Club commented that Kuwaitis all live on the sea, are thus very attached to the sea and like water sports.
The World Rowing team values feedback.
