Development camp for women planned

FISA’s programme to develop women’s rowing has set February 2006 for the 5th Women’s Training Camp.

Designed for female athletes preparing for the 2006 regional and international regatta season, the training camp will take place in Seville, Spain at the FISA Development Centre from 5 to 20 February. Under the direction of international coach and FISA Development Director Thor Nilsen, participants will receive personal technical coaching, on-water training and land and physiological testing.

Interested national rowing federations must apply to FISA by 15 November 2005. Participation is limited to 15 athletes and five coaches.

The course will finish with the FISA Team Cup Regatta (18 to 19 February) and participants will be given the opportunity to start in the regular event categories or in special classes for developing countries.
