E-learning – A new tool in coach education!

Coaches, rowers or individuals interested in rowing can now follow the E-learning Coaching Development programme level 1 by e-mail under the tutelage of experienced FISA experts in the field supervised by FISA’s Development Director, Thor Nilsen.

Participants will be required to follow the recently updated Level 1 Coaching Handbook and complete an exercise at the end of each chapter which they will submit to FISA by e-mail for review by the course conductors. Each participant will advance at his own pace and may contact the course director at any time for guidance or questions.

Once the Handbook chapter assignments have been completed, participants with a minimum of one year’s active coaching experience on a club level may advance to the Diploma work level of the programme which can lead them to the FISA Development Programme Level 1 Coaching Diploma.  An example of the Diploma assignment would be to create a training programme for a given group of athletes or to deliver a technical analysis of a specific rower or crew.
