Disabled athletes from adaptive rowing, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, athletics, hand cycling have already signed up for the Adaptive Indoor Rowing Challenge in Vilamoura, Portugal on 23 and 24 January 2004. Dave Player, the event organiser, says, ? We’re aiming to have around 100 entrants but as the interest has been so good we may have to increase this number and add new categories, such as Seniors (over 50’s).?
Dave goes on to say ?Adaptive indoor rowing is all about upper body strength, stamina and technique and most disabled people involved in sport are all arms and shoulders, so this has the making to be a very interesting contest.?
