A calm, sunny day greeted rowers and spectators alike at the second BearingPoint Rowing World Cup in Munich, Germany. The day opened with B and C finals, followed by A finals beginning at 10.30am CET.

The Olympic class events begin with the women’s single just after 11.03am CET when Ekaterina Karsten of Belarus faces off against Mirka Knapkova of the Czech Republic. They will be followed by action in the men’s single as newcomers Lassi Karonen of Sweden and Tim Maeyens of Belgium take on the experienced Vaclav Chalupa of the Czech Republic and World Champion Norwegian, Olaf Tufte.

Extremely tight racing is expected in the men’s double and lightweight men’s four where current World Champions fell during the semi-finals yesterday.
