The 2005 FISA Annual Congress will take place on Monday, 5 September at the Softopia Congress Centre in Ogaki, Japan starting at 9 a.m.

Points to be discussed will include:

World Rowing Championship Bids
– 2009 World Rowing Championships (Poznan, POL and  Amsterdam, NED).
– 2009 World Rowing Junior Championships (Gainesville, USA and Brive-la-Gaillarde, FRA)
– 2008 Under 23 World Rowing Championships (Brandenburg, GER and Poznan, POL)

Earlier this year, the FISA Council selected, subject now to Congress ratification, Poznan (POL) for the 2009 World Rowing Championships, Gainesville (USA) for the 2009 World Rowing Junior Championships and
Brandenburg (GER) 2008 World Rowing Under 23 Championships.

– Election of FISA President, Vice President, Treasurer and members of the Executive Committee for next four year mandate
– Discussions on the World Rowing Under 23 Championships programme
– Consideration of new members: Jordan and United Arab Emirates which would make a total of 120 national federations
– Presentation on the Council’s analysis of the IOC Programme Commission report

Members of the media are welcome to attend this session. A Media round table discussion will take place immediately after the Congress with FISA President Denis Oswald and Matt Smith, FISA Executive Director.
