FISA Endorses Anti-Doping Code
Today FISA joined all International Federations, 73 governments as well as National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and inter and non governmental organisations in endorsing the new World Anti Doping Code at the World Conference on Doping in Sport in Copenhagen.
This new code sets uniform drug-testing codes and sanctions across all sports and countries.
“It’s a historic moment of the Olympic movement that all partners have come together in the fight against doping. We are thrilled to have the full cooperation of the governments in this fight.” Said FISA Executive Director Matt Smith following the three-day meeting in the Danish Capital.
The World Anti-Doping Agency would now like the code in place for the Athens Games in 2004, and for governments to adopt the declaration before the start of the Turin Winter Games in 2006.
