Site visits for the assessment of bid cities for the 2006 FISA World Rowing Championships are underway with the visit, yesterday (Thursday), of FISA Executive Director Matt Smith to the city of Poznan in Poland.
Mr Smith was welcomed by the Mayor of the city, Mr Ryszard Grobelny and his deputy and discussed with them the different aspects of holding the 2006 FISA World Rowing Championships on the Malta Regatta course right in the centre of the city.

The Polish organising committee, together with organising committees from other bidding cities Windsor, Great Britain and Plovdiv, Bulgaria will meet FISA Council members on March 10 to present their project.
A final decision on the location of the 2006 FISA World Rowing Championships is expected on June 15.
