FISA International Masters Rowing Survey On-line
The FISA Masters Rowing Commission has launched a new project with the aim to gather precious information about masters rowers around the world.
The research is being carried out in the form of an on-line survey. The objective being to find out in what way masters rowers are involved with the sport, who they are and how they train.
“We want to find out how master rowing can be beneficial – not only through the exercise value, but also to the clubs and people through coaching and sharing of experience” says FISA Masters Rowing Commission Chairman – Peter Morrison.
The final goal is to set up a database in order to analyse why people are continuing rowing and whether they are involved in the sport in any other way than just rowing.
The survey is running from March though to the end of September. Several hundred master rowers have already answered the questionnaire, and several thousand completed forms are estimated by the end of the project.
A rower may compete as a masters from the beginning of the year during which he or she reaches the age of 27.
The FISA International Masters Rowing Survey can be accessed through the Masters Commission page of Worldrowing.com.
