Five Cities bid for 2007 World Rowing Championships
FISA has received official bids from five cities to host the 2007 World Rowing Championships. They are:
Aiguebelette, France
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Munich, Germany
Poznan, Poland
Zagreb, Croatia
A FISA inspection team will visit each of the sites between now and May 15th to confirm the details of their bids. The bid committees will then present their projects to the FISA Council at its meeting on June 1st. Following the presentations the FISA Council will make a selection that will be proposed to the FISA Congress for ratification on August 23, 2003.
The World Rowing Championships will take place in Milan, Italy in 2003; in Banyoles, Spain (for the non-Olympic boat classes) in 2004; in Gifu, Japan in 2005 and in Eton, Great Britain in 2006.
