The men's quad is bound to provide some fast, close racing as Group B semifinals begin at the FISA World Rowing Championships in Lucerne, Switzerland today (Friday).

The Race Tracker is in action now, bringing you live results, updated every 500 metres. We'll bring you a Race by Race report after the close of racing at about 17:00 CET plus news throughout the day.

Traditionally one of the most competitive boat classes in racing, the men's quad is unlikely to disappoint today.

Former world champions Germany are meeting one of this year's stand-out crews, Poland, in the first semifinal. With Italy, Australia, Estonia and Belarus rounding out the field, its hard to pick which three will make the finals cut.

And it's no easier in semifinal two. Olympic silver medallists the Netherlands meet Olympic finalists Ukraine and the powerful new USA crew. The Czech Republic, Russia and Sweden have all looked strong at times throughout the season.

The lightweights make up the rest of today's semifinals, with the lightweight four another highlight of racing.

Olympic champions France and three-time world champions Denmark are in different semifinals but each will be looking to qualify first for Sunday's finals.

See the Events section for today's start lists.
