President Denis Oswald presided over his 19th FISA Ordinary Congress last Friday in Linz, Austria, at the occasion of the 2008 FISA World Rowing Senior and Junior Championships. There were 56 member federations present. The main decisions of this Congress included the following:
2012 World Rowing Senior and Junior Championships
Plovdiv, Bulgaria, was awarded these championships in the year of the 2012 London Olympic Games. The dates for the event have still to be determined.
2011 World Rowing Under 23 Championships
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, was awarded these championships in a very close vote over the new regatta course in Montemar-o-Velho, Portugal.
