Hungary to host FISA Coaches Conference
The Hungarian Rowing Association has been chosen to host the 2007 World Rowing Coaches Conference. This annual event is an integral part of the International Rowing Federation’s, FISA, calendar and is attended by rowing coaches and officials from throughout the world.
This year Hungary’s capital, Budapest will play host from the 8 – 11 November 2007 and the theme will be “strength training for rowers.”
Speakers are being invited from around the world with special presentations on strength training for men, women and lightweights. The speakers will come from a variety of sports and will also feature a coach in the spotlight from rowing.
“In addition we will have presentations on emotional intelligence in competition and training,” says FISA organiser John Boultbee. “We will cover psychological issues and a study testing France’s medal winning rowers.”
The final night will feature a gala dinner where the 2007 FISA Awards will be presented for Coach of the Year, Female and Male Crew of the Year and the Distinguished Services to Rowing Award.
Hotel Stadion is to be used for the venue and is apt for its proximity to the biggest sports centre in Budapest.
The conference official language is English.
