Italy Qualifies Most Boats for Finals
Italy has the most boats in its history through to finals at the FISA World Rowing Championships as it leads the field in the number of boats that have qualified for finals.
Italian crews have qualified for 14 of the 24 boat classes, with the first boats in action in Group A finals at Lucerne today.
Semifinals concluded yesterday with every one of the Italian crew that raced in semis making the cut for finals.
USA is next on the list, with 13 crews lining up this weekend. Germany and Great Britain have 12 each.
A total of 35 countries have crews in the finals, including Chile, Cuba and Zimbabwe.
Rounding out the top nine qualifying nations are France and Romania with eight, Australia and the Netherlands with seven, Belarus with five.
