Make your mark on the Youth Olympics
Would you like to leave your mark on the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games? The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is looking for you to design the Youth Olympic medal and it is as simple as going online.
The IOC will then invite the public to vote for the 10 best medal designs online. The 10 best will then be submitted to the IOC jury who will choose the best design.
The winner will receive a trip to Singapore for the Youth Olympic Games and they will get to see firsthand their design being awarded to the athletes.
Here is how to do it: Create your design, send it, and see all submissions online on www.medaldesigncompetition.com
- Submissions will need to be made by 4 December 2009.
- Voting will be possible from 7 December to 22 January 2010.
- The winner will be announced by 31 January 2010.
- Participants must be over 18 years old.
The Youth Olympic Games will be held in Singapore from 14 to 26 August 2010 and include rowing as one of the disciplines. This year’s World Rowing Junior Championships were the qualification regatta for the Games. The multi-tiered qualification system means that National Olympic Committees (NOCs), have had to confirm if they wish to use the spots of the events that they qualified for. The next step is for the International Rowing Federation (FISA) in conjunction with the IOC and NOCs, to allocate the available places with the view of universality. This will be finalised by May 2010.

The World Rowing team values feedback.
