Germany and the United States will go head to head in a 500 metre sprint for charity on finals day, Sunday 19 June, at the BearingPoint Rowing World Cup in Munich, Germany.

Promoting breast cancer awareness the Sprint for the Cure will be raced between the German and United States’ women’s eight and spectators at the Munich Olympic Regatta Course will have the opportunity to buy lottery tickets to help support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Buying a lottery ticket puts participants in the draw for a trip to the final World Cup in Lucerne, Switzerland in July. Supported by World Rowing sponsors, BearingPoint, the company has pledged to match the amount raised by the lottery and donate it to the Komen Foundation.

Germany and the United States will race in the World Cup final on Sunday and then row back to the 500 metre mark to sprint for the cure.
