Two new records were set at the sixth edition of the “Amstel Ergohead” indoor rowing event raced Sunday in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. World Champions Filippo Mannucci of Italy and Akos Haller of Hungary set new times to beat for the 6 km ergometre event in the lightweight and heavyweight categories respectively.

Double world champion in the lightweight men’s quad, Mannucci pulled a steady and skilful in 19:49.2 placing him 25 seconds ahead of the second placed rower. The 28 year-old Livorno native was participating in this event for the first time.

In the open category, men’s double world champion Akos Haller bettered the “Amstel Ergohead” record by two seconds with a 18:50.3. The previous record of 18:52.5 was established in 1999 by Geert-Jan Derksen of the Netherlands.
