World men’s single sculls champion Olaf Tufte has won the Norwegian Kings Cup for the first time at the Norwegian National Championships in Voss, Norway this weekend.

The Kings Cup is awarded every year to the best performing female and male rower during the national championships.

Tufte was awarded the Cup for his performance in the men’s single sculls in which he finished first.

He also raced for his club Horten in the men’s double, quad and eight where he took another two gold medals and a bronze medal respectively.

Last year, the Cup was given to Tufte’s Olympic doubles partner Fredrik Bekken.

The women’s Kings Cup was taken by a young Lightweight single sculler – Lizzie Schøtt from Bærum Club, who also took part in the Nation’s Cup earlier this year.

Olaf Tufte’s club Horten finished 3rd in the overall club ranking.
