Palestinian coaches back in Gaza Strip
Four coaches and a community administrator of the Palestinian Rowing Federation (PRF) who were stranded in Egypt for nearly five weeks after completing a one-month coaching training program in Seville, Spain, from mid-November to mid-December have returned to the Gaza Strip. The coaches returned to Gaza City at the end of January.
Because the PRF has not received security clearance from the responsible Israeli authorities to ship its boats to Gaza (purchased through FISA’s ?Rowing-In-A-Box’ program) the modules in Spain were crucial to the development of the local coaches’ technical skill set. Now the focus of the coaches will be on improving the land-based training programme of the athletes in the refugee camp until security clearance for the boats is received.
The World Rowing team values feedback.
