Boatbuilder Filippi Lido was awarded the prestigious “Palmaremo” by the Italian Rowing Federation (FIC) last Saturday for distinguished passion and action both at international and national level.

The Italian boatbuilder was founded in 1980 and has since anchored a spot in the market of top quality racing shells. The award comes to the Donorotico based company after a record-breaking year on the international circuit – 33 medals at the 2002 senior and junior World Rowing Championships.

FIC president Gianni Romanini distributed the awards, including an award for athlete of the year to world Champion Leonardo Pettinari and journalist of the year to Ugo Russo, at the national assembly of the federation in Rome.
