Rowing at the Croatia Open

Warm up at the Jarun regatta course
Warming up for this weekend’s 23rd Croatia Open Regatta, are rowers from 10 countries who will compete on the Jarun Lake in the heart of Croatia’s capital, Zagreb.
Rowers from Greece, a strong contingent from Estonia’s under-23 national team and Olympic Champions and 2005 FISA male Crew of the Year, Luka Spik and Iztok Cop of Slovenia will be amongst those racing.
Jarun Lake has hosted a number of international regattas including the University Rowing Championships in 1998 and the Junior and non-Olympic World Rowing Championships in 2000. The course holds about 12 regattas yearly and currently seven rowing clubs inhabit the venue.
Croatian rowing is currently best known for brothers, Niksa and Sinisa Skelin who already have Olympic bronze and silver medals as they work their way towards the Beijing Olympics.
