The French Rowing Federation has entered into partnership with the French Hemophilic Association for the World Hemophilia Day on 17 April 2004.

French rowing clubs in Lyons, Nantes, Paris, Toulouse and Valenciennes, together with regional committees of the French Hemophilic Association, will be holding ?Rowing Discovery and Hemophilia Awareness Days? at which hemophiliacs and their families will be introduced to the sport of rowing.

The involvement of hemophiliacs in sport activities that contribute to their physical, psychological and social well-being should be encouraged. Rowing seems to meet all of those needs.

Compared to other sports, rowing presents little risk to hemophilic patients and is strongly recommended to counter joint deterioration, one of the effects of hemophilia. Team spirit is also a great means of social integration for hemophiliacs who, in some instances, tend to be overly protected.
