Rowing New Zealand is now seeking an outstanding leader and manager to implement the Board’s plan to further grow the sport domestically and support programmes to enhance its performance record.

Particular emphasis will be placed on developing and implementing initiatives that will lead to increased participation at club level.  Important to this process will be enhancing the capability of member organisations and their personnel including coaches, officials and volunteers.  Building of strong links and partnerships between clubs, schools, universities, masters and recreational participants and with regional sports organisations will also be a priority.

Key responsibilities also include sourcing additional funding for existing and new programmes, as well as meeting the requirements of partners, providers and sponsors.

The Chief Executive will have the support of a small management team based at Lake Karapiro.

Requirements for the position include:
·         Ability to lead and think strategically
·         Proven record in people management and relationships
·         Demonstrated success in programme management and administration
·         Superior oral and written communication skills
·         Financial management experience
·         Strengths in marketing and public relations
·         Affinity with and understanding of the culture of high performance sport

The preferred location for the position is Rowing New Zealand’s High Performance centre at Lake Karapiro, Cambridge.
