Switzerland by boat
Every year the FISA Tour explores different waterways of the world. This year Switzerland is hosting 80 participants rowing in four person sculling gigs, plus rower/coxswain.
The tour, currently in its sixth day, has already enjoyed three days of rowing on the Lake of Lucerne. They have taken in local cultural activities – “making of Emmental cheese”, a fondue lunch, exploring capital city Berne – and they are currently discovering Lake Murten, Lake Biel, the River Aare and Solothurn.
By the end of the Tour the participants, hailing from 13 countries, will have rowed 170 km and travelled through one lock.
Hosted by the Swiss Rowing Federation nations involved include Austria, Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland and the United States.
