Former FISA sports medicine commission member Dr. Bill Webb of Australia recently passed away from a heart attack. He was 67 years old.

Dr. Webb worked extensively with rowing as principal medical officer for Rowing Australia and as the Australian rowing team doctor since 1981. He attended the 1984, 88, 92, 96 and 2000 Olympics and instigated many new programs and procedures to support and treat high performance rowers. His expertise was internationally recognised. Dr. Webb served on the FISA Medical Commission from 1985 to 2002.

His valuable assistance to all rowing clubs through medical support of elite athletes will be sadly missed.
