Tufte in Line for Top Honour
World men's single sculls champion Olaf Tufte is in line for one of Norwegian rowing's top awards when he takes part in the national championships in Voss at the weekend.
The Kings Cup is awarded in several sports in Norway. In rowing it is decided by a committee after the national championships and goes to the male and female rower they decide have put in the best performance.
Tufte is to row in the single sculls at Voss but will also take part in the double and the eight for his club Horten.
He will be joined in the eight by the Norwegian Rowing Federation president and former world champion Rolf Thorsen where the two will race against Barcelona and Atlanta medallist Undset Kjetil.
Around 300 rowers are expected to take part in the championships held on the picturesque Voss course in the Alpine regions in the west of the country.
