Calling all masters rowers. Mark this one on your calendar. Registration is now open for the 2006 FISA World Rowing Masters Regatta, the largest masters rowing event in the world. Princeton, New Jersey, home of the United States rowing squad, is hosting this year’s event, the premier of masters rowing events.

Online registration is available at www.fisamasters2006.com which allows participants to register boats, request boat rental, sign up for social events and carry out other organising details. Registration materials are also available for downloading from the website.

The excitement and constant action of the annual FISA World Rowing Masters Regatta is renowned as thousands of athletes ranging from former Olympians to first season rowers leave the starting blocks at close three minute intervals.

Competitors are categorised by their age with age groups starting at 27 years. Everyone races over the 1,000 metre distance and athletes regularly compete from over 30 nations.

 ?With no qualifying events, the FISA World Masters Regatta is the pinnacle regatta for masters rowers to compare their ability to those from all over the world,? said Brian Roman, Regatta Director. ?This regatta is open to any masters rower, from those rowers new to the sport to those that have been rowing for years, this regatta has something for everyone. Some rowers love the fierce competition of the international rowing community. The regatta will be held in Mercer County Park in Princeton, United States from 7 ? 10 September, 2006.
