Good news remains for participants in the FISA World Rowing Masters Regatta. Despite recent flooding in the Czech Republic, the regatta course on the Racice has not been affected.

Chairman of the Master’s Commission, Peter Morrison, said today that the course would be completely functional for September 4. ?Although the regatta course runs close to the River Elbe, the river is subsiding and any potential danger to the course has passed,? he said.

Morrison was also satisfied that the main requirements for a good regatta course would be in place and work on access roads and land facilities were well under way as well as a positive assessment of the boat rental situation. ?Some nearby villages and access roads remain flooded, but access will be regained very soon,? he said.

The organisers’ website is currently being set up on another server and the race draw will soon be available. The old site, www.racicemasters2002.cz/, is not running but it is expected to be working in a couple of days. Regular updates for the latest information can be found on worldrowing.com.

The organising committee seeks your co-operation in not sending messages and to be assured that all resources are being used to make sure the best possible conditions are in place for the regatta.
