The World Rowing Awards are a series of distinctions which each year honour the most deserving male and female crews as well as the coach of the year and a special medal for distinguished services to rowing which rewards an outstanding contribution to the development of international rowing. For the first time this year, an adaptive rowing award has been added to reward this year's most deserving adaptive athlete or crew.

Past recipients of these awards include Matthew Pinsent (GBR) who received the award in 2002 and 2004, Caroline and Georgina Evers-Swindell who also received the award twice and coach Alex Wojciechowski of Poland. For a full list of previous Award winners click here.

Nominations can be submitted to FISA until 12 October, midnight CET. The finalists shall be selected by the FISA Council based on the nominations and the winners shall be decided by FISA's Executive Committee in November.
The medals shall be awarded during a Gala dinner in January 2010.

All nominations must be submitted online. Click here to access the form directly, or visit the Athlete/Awards section of www.worldrowing.com.
