Final FISA Preparation Site Visit to Chungju, Korea
The permanent venue facilities have now been completed and Chungju is ready to welcome the rowing world.
The site visit will include inspection of all venue facilities and operations, final review of logistical aspects, the development programme as well as television production and marketing plans.
The FISA representatives, led by Executive Director Matt Smith, will also be discussing the security situation on the Korean peninsula. FISA and the Organising Committee will issue a statement following the site visit next week.
In addition, a joint preparation site visit team of FISA and FISU, the University Sports Federation, will be conducting a site visit to Gwangju, Korea, the site of the 2015 World University Games. This group will visit Gwangju and Chungju during a two day visit.
FISA is working closely with FISU to help establish rowing as a permanent sport in the World University Games programme. Rowing is on the programme for Kazan 2013 and Gwangju 2015.
