Despite a strong crosswind testing the crews’ early session technique, Mercer Lake saw some brilliant performances as some of the biggest names in rowing today battled it out against others returning to form or making their mark for the first time.

Highlights of the event included the men’s double sculls. Five crews were within a second of each other at the first 500m mark but Bjorn Hendrickx and Xtijn Smulders crossed the line first, 0.30 seconds ahead of the Swiss.
