About Lucerne
Lucerne is located in the north-central Switzerland along the shores of lake Lucerne. Lucerne is the capital of the Canton of Lucerne. One of the city’s famous landmark is the ‘Kapellbrücke’ (the Chapel Bridge), a 204 m long wooden bridge built in 1333, although a large amount had to be rebuilt in 1993 after a fire. Switzerland has a population of 7,639,961 (July 2011 est.). The Canton of Lucerne has approximately 363,000 inhabitants of which 60,000 live in the city of Lucerne.
