About the venue
The Lake of Banyoles is a natural lake located in the Pla de l'Estany in Girona. The lake is approximately 2,100m by 750m with an average depth of 15m. It is located in a natural tectonic depression. It is the largest natural lake in Catalonia. The lake became famous as the rowing location for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics Games, and the World Rowing Championships in 2004. It is also a popular training camp location for club and national team rowers alike.
