1. Organizers
The 4th Asian Machine Rowing Championships Japan will be co-organized by The Japan Rowing Association(JARA) and The Central Japan Rowing Association under the sponsorship of The Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport, The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Gifu Prefecture, Ogaki City and Kaizu Town.
The event is sanctioned by Asian Rowing Federation (ARF).
A Seminar for Rowing will also be offered to all athletes and officials during the event. The language will be English.
The Central Japan Machine Rowing Championships will be co-organized on 2nd March 2003 at the same venue.
2. Dates and Venue
The 4th Asian Machine Rowing Championships Japan will be held on 1st & 2nd March 2003 (Saturday & Sunday) at the Nagaragawa International Regatta Course, where the FISA World Rowing Championships 2005-Gifu, Japan will be held. The Venue is located in Kaizu Town, Gifu prefecture, at about 23km west from Nagoya
3. Events
The events in the 4th Asian Machine Rowing Championships will be;

・ Lightweight Men must be 75kg or less
・ Lightweight Women must be 61.5kg or less
・ Lightweight competitors must be weighed in not more than 2 hours and not less than 1 hour before the first race of the day of each event.
・ For lightweight team events, each competitor must meet the weight limit above ? there will be no averaging of weights.
・ Competitors in Championship events must wear normal National Team uniform as registered with FISA.

The Time Table may be subject to change depending upon the number of entries. When the number of entries to an event exceeds the maximum available number of the rowing machines for a race, Heats and Finals will be organized.
The finalized timetable will be sent to the participating countries later.
5. Entry Requirement
The Asian Machine Rowing Championships events are open only to National Teams selected by National Rowing Federations affiliated to ARF. Entries must be made by the National Federations in the same manner as for on-water Championships.
In accordance with normal FISA and ARF rules, competitors must be citizens of the country that they represent and be able to prove this by showing an official document (passport or identity card).
Each Federation may make a maximum of two entries for each event. Double up in more than one event by a same competitor is permitted, but the intervals between the events may not be considered.
There will be no entry fee for national team.
6. Prizes
Medals will be presented to the first, the second and the third placed competitors in each event.
7. Flags and Anthems
All teams are requested to bring a National flag and a tape of their official National Anthems.
8. Accommodation & Transportation
The Organizing Committee will arrange the accommodation and transportation.
For a maximum of twelve (12) competitors or team officials from each National Team, the cost per person for 3 nights including 8 meals (from the evening of February 28th to the morning of March 3rd) and the transportation will be reduced into 6,000 yen by the sponsorship of The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Please note that this offer is not applied for Supporters etc.
The cost for the others than the above (including Supporters) is 27,000yen per person.
Accommodation for teams wishing to stay additional nights before and/or after the days above may be arranged at 8,000 yen per person per night (including two meals) through the Organizing Committee by the prior notices.
The expense above all must be deposited to the Organizing Committee when each team makes the Final Accommodation application.
Please complete the attached Accommodation Reservation Form.
Lodgings will be organizes in Ogaki City at about 23km north from the venue and at about 30km west from Nagoya International Airport.
Bus transportation between the lodging and the venue will be arranged by the Organizing Committee on 1st and 2nd March 2003.
Upon prior notice of the flight schedules, National Teams will be picked up at and sent to Nagoya International Airport.
If a Team is not arriving at and departing from Nagoya International Airport, the Team is requested to come to and go back from GIFUHASHIMA Train Station of JR SHINKANSAN at its own arrangements and at its own costs. The organizer will pick-up and send the Team at/to GIFUHASHIMA train station upon prior notice of the arrival and departure date and time of the Train.
9. Entry Procedure (Consists of Two Steps, please use the attached forms)
Step 1 ( Due Date: 21st December 2002, Saturday )
Preliminary Entry Form by Event and Preliminary Accommodation Form are requested to be returned by 21st December 2002 (Saturday) to the organizing committee below by e-mail or by fax.
Step 2 ( Due Date: 18th January 2003, Saturday )
Final Entry and Final Accommodation Form are requested to be returned by 18th January 2003 (Saturday) to the organizing committee shown on the next page by e-mail or by fax.
