About the Regatta Venue:Lake Kaban

Lake Biwa is the largest freshwater lake in Japan. The area is approximately 670 km² with 235 km around. It provides drinking water for about 15 million people in the region. The lake was designated as a UNESCO Ramsar Wetland in 1993.
