About the venue
"Lungomare Nazario Sauro" is the eastern section of the major road along the coast around Bari, about 7 km long, whose arrangement has led to the new look of modern Bari. The promenade is decorated with bright flowers beds and bordered by a parade of modern buildings. The "Lungomare Nazario Sauro" seafront directly overlooking the race course The regatta course is 8 km. The starting line will be as the crow flies in front of the Palazzo della Provincia di Bari, only a turning point in Torre Quetta, with arrival back in the breakwater barrier in front of Piazza Diaz.. Coastal rowing has been practised in Lungomare Nazrio Sauro since 1906. The course has been used since the birth of the Rowing Club "Barion", built in 1894. Since 1901 the 4 + wiiner of numerous European titles (Caccavallo, Nacci, Diane and Narducci, the crew went down in history as "the Trabbacolanti") used to practised there. The venue has hosted many national rowing and sailing regattas.
