Venue
The Championships will be held at Toda Olympic Boat Course, Toda City in Saitama Prefecture. Toda City can be reached from the downtown areas of Tokyo about in 1 hour by public transportation.

Distances
The races will be conducted over 2,000-meter.

Events
The Championships will consist of the following events:

Lightweight  Men           
Single Scull         (LM1x)
Double Scull       (LM2x)
Coxless Pair       (LM2-)
Quad                  (LM4x)
Coxless Four      (LM4-)
Eight                   (LM8+)

Lightweight Women           
Single Scull         (LW1x)
Double Scull        (LW2x)
Quadruple with coxswain       (LW4x+)*

*LW4x+ is only raced in the year of 2003.
*LW4x will be added to the Championships from 2004.

Schedule
Thursday        3^rd July             Team Managers Meeting and Draw
Friday              4^th July             Preliminary Heats
Saturday        5^th July             Semi Finals
Sunday           6^th July             Finals, Closing Ceremony

Entry Fee
No entry fee will be charged to overseas rowers and teams.

Eligibility
The rowers shall meet the provision of Rule 23 in section 4 of the FISA Rule Book. One individual rower shall not participate in more than one event. However, he/she will be able to make the second entry in LM8+ or LW4x+ in addition to their entry in the other events.

In case of a double entry, the competitors may not have enough intervals between the two participating events.

The provision of Rule 18 or 19 shall apply to coxswain. The participants are not necessarily from the national team of their countries/regions.

Rules and Regulations
The Championships will be conducted in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of FISA and JARA.

Prizes
Medals will be presented to the first, the second and third placed competitors in each event.

Boat rental and rental charges
JARA will provide boats for rental in each event. Requests for hiring boats should be notified in the attached Boat Request Form on or before 15 May, 2003.

The boat rental charges are as follows: (in Japanese yen/per day/per boat)

Accommodation
Accommodation facilities having lodging capacity of 90 persons, adjacent to the Boat Course, are available for the event participants on “first come, first serve” booking basis in the attached Accommodation Reservation Form. Meals will not be served in the accommodation facilities.

Local Transportation
Local transportation for the participants, oars and other boat equipment will be provided by JARA free of charge to and from New Tokyo International Airport in  Narita/Haneda Airport in Tokyo and the Boat Course/Accommodation facilities.

Closing Date of Entries

Final entry should be submitted to the Organizing Committee on or before Thursday 15^th May 2003. Changes of competitors’ names will be accepted until 1000 hours of Japan Standard Time on 1^st July 2003.
