Junior Championships schedule change for day 2 racing
The 2015 World Rowing Junior Championships in Rio, Brazil has had a change to the schedule due to the long term weather forecast.
Long term forecasting shows that from Saturday 8 August at noon, there will be very strong winds of up to 10 metres/second. As a precaution FISA, the World Rowing Federation, has decided to run two rounds of racing on Thursday 6 August.
Thursday’s schedule will start at 8:30am with the originally scheduled heats plus the repechage of the junior men’s single sculls. Then the change will be in the afternoon with all races originally scheduled for Friday 7 August, now to be raced from 3pm on Thursday. These races include the repechages plus the quarterfinal in the men’s single sculls.
At noon on Thursday, FISA will announce the decision about racing for the rest of the week once additional weather information is collected.
