Women's Pair (W2-) - Final
Finishing just a couple of seconds outside of their own World Best Time, Helen Glover and Heather Stanning of Great Britain were all class in this final. The British stormed out of the start and with every stroke they moved away from the field. This left the main race to a battle between the United States and New Zealand for the silver medal spot. Grace Prendergast and Kerri Gowler of New Zealand had gained silver already this season and must have been the favourites to get another one.
In the final sprint Great Britain kept the pressure on themselves rating 37 to the line while the New Zealanders got the better of Felice Mueller and Eleanor Logan of the United States.
Results: GBR, NZL, USA, DEN, RSA, CAN

“It was pretty flat out there. We were exactly where we want to be, we will peak only next year. It is great to win here.”
Grace Prendergast (b) – NZL – silver
“We had a good race, we are very happy about this silver. GB went out very quickly, we look forward to the eight tomorrow.”
Eleanor Logan (s) – USA – gold
“We both learn a lot from each other and work well together, I am lucky to have such a partner.”
