Change to racing programme for European Championship finals
The first B-final was due to start at 9:00 (CET) on Sunday 8 May 2016 and will now start one hour earlier at 8:00 CET. This then brings the start of the A-finals forward to 09:33 CET with the last A-final beginning at 13:33 CET.
Two days of racing at the European Rowing Championships have already been completed and the weather conditions for the rowers has seen varying cross and head wind conditions building to rough water. An increase of 1 m/sec wind speed from Saturday’s racing is forecasted for the Sunday finals and the FISA Executive Committee has concluded that moving racing forward one hour will help to avoid expected increases in the wind speed.
