Big British day at Rio’s Lagoa Olympic rowing regatta course
In a day that saw four Olympic rowing finals, Great Britain secured two golds when they successfully defended their Olympic titles in both the women’s pair and men’s four. Under rainy, cool conditions and flat water finals were also completed in the lightweight men’s and women’s double sculls where the Dutch and the French prevailed. The British men’s four has now won gold five consecutive times and the women’s pair of Helen Glover and Heather Stanning move into the record books as the only British women rowers to have two gold medals.
