A rowing success for International Women’s Day
From elite, to junior, to masters, from indoor to coastal rowing, women are everywhere in the sport. Using the theme of “We’re in this together” the photos truly demonstrated how women and men can work together to make change. The variety of photos also showed a passion for the sport that sees no boundaries.
One photo from each continent was chosen as the ‘winner’. Sent in via our social media channels, you can see the winner photos below. These winners will receive prizes from World Rowing partner, New Wave and will be contacted individually.

International Women’s Day has been observed since the early 1900s. The day celebrates women’s achievements in many areas including economic, social, political and, of course, sport. This year the theme was ‘Be Bold For Change,’ and a large number of initiatives world-wide embraced the spirit of the day.
World Rowing would like to thank everyone who sent in photos. The images were so powerful that we will post them on our Facebook and Instagram pages throughout the coming months.
