Each year, the FISA Umpiring Commission conducts examinations to license new FISA Umpires. In November and December two examinations were conducted. The first of these two examinations was held in Tokyo, Japan, October 20-21, 2018. Five candidates successfully navigated the examination in Tokyo, three from Japan, one each from Australia and Korea. The final examination of 2018 took place November 21-22 in Berlin, Germany. There were also five successful candidates at the Berlin examination representing Austria, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, and Spain.
