This Olympic year sees the remaining qualification regattas being contested followed by a build-up to the biggest event in rowing, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in July. Following the Olympics, the season is far from over. After the Paralympic Games in August, the ‘mega’ World Rowing Championships takes place, combining non-Olympic senior boat classes with the under-23 and junior World Championships. Expect over 2000 athletes to be racing and an electric atmosphere.
The season finishes off with the World Rowing Masters Regatta followed by the top events of the year in coastal rowing; the second ever World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals and then the World Rowing Coastal Championships.
Para-rowing races will be contested at World Rowing Cup II, European Rowing Championships and World Rowing Championships.
